The Three Skills That Make Up Katzs Model - 1659 Words

The three skills that make up Katz’s model are technical, human, and conceptual skills. Technical skills involve knowledge and proficiency in a specific type of work or activity. Human skills are about knowledge related to working with people. They provide a leader with the ability to work effectively with followers, peers, and superiors when trying to accomplish organizational goals. Conceptual skills are the ability to work with ideas and concepts (Northouse, p. 46). One of the essential roles Ho Chi Minh played in the growth of nationalism and communism can be seen whilst he resided in China. Here he gave socialist lectures to youth revolutionaries. By doing this Ho Chi Minh began positioning the pieces of his chessboard of communism for Vietnam by conveying his message to young and passionate Vietnamese citizens (Whitman, 1969). When referring to human skills, Ho Chi Minh loved and respected the people and considered them the masters and origin of the nation. Comp assion and caring enabled him to nurture the people being led. The final of the three skills is conceptional skills.
